I think everyone on Keto misses potatoes. I’ll quote the 80’s hair band Cinderella by saying “you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone. All that being said these Cajun Bacon Radishes are a fantastic alternative to those carby spuds.

Need a Quick simple side? Keto Cajun Bacon Radishes are a winner!!!

I know that a lot of people are looking for quick and easy things to prepare in their air fryer so I thought I’d put this post out there for everyone to check out. These Keto Cajun Bacon Radishes are a fantastic alternative for potatoes as a side dish. I’m not going to lie and say you can’t tell the difference. The sharp flavor that Radishes have when eaten raw changes to a very mild tender potato “like” root vegetable. Pair it with spicy Cajun seasoning from Dak's Spices, some Coarse Real Salt and a half pound of thick cut bacon and you won’t even care that it’s not potatoes.

Let the Air Fryer do the Work!

The fact that you can just throw all the ingredients in the air fryer and concentrate on the rest of your dinner is a big help. I love my air fryer for that specific reason. Knowing I’m going to get asked which air fryer I use In full disclosure I have 2 different ones. The Go Wise and the Simple Living Products XXL models.

Both are fine but after using both for a while I definitely think the Simple Living model is superior. The basket non stick coating works a lot better and I’ve never had anything stick to the bottom as I have with the Go Wise model. The basket also feels more sturdy as well. I just seem to get a better finished product from the Simple Living Model. I did reach out to them to see if I could pass along a discount to my readers. They were kind enough to give anyone who uses the code: LION at checkout and you’ll get 10% off. That code applies to any of there other products as well.

Preparing The Radishes for the Air Fryer

To prepare the Radishes I simply cut off the tips then split them in half. Some of the smaller ones I will just leave whole. Once I’ve got the Radishes cut I slice the bacon into large 2 inch pieces. The bacon will shrink up as it cooks so I wanted to make sure they were still big pieces after they came out of the air fryer. I like to coat the Radishes and bacon with just a tablespoon of olive oil mainly to help the seasoning stick to the Radishes. I use a combination of the Dak's Cajun voodoo spice and coarse real salt. Daks spices don’t use salt which I actually like because I can add whatever salt I think will go best in the recipe. I chose the coast salt because it goes great with steak and adds a little texture to the soft Radishes.

Keep an eye on those Radishes

The time may vary depending on how Roasted you like your Keto Cajun Bacon Radishes. I set the air fryer for 30 minutes at 400 degrees F. Check them every 10 minutes. Give them a shake so they Radishes are evenly roasted. I cooked a pound and a half batch of Radishes which was perfect for 5-6 people. It was a good amount for the size of the basket. You want the Radishes to have as much surface area as possible so spread them out.

Once they have roasted to your desired doneness they are fit for eating. I steamed a little broccoli and grilled some beautiful NY Strip steaks and dinner was served . Even my non Keto family members enjoyed the Radishes and couldn’t believe how mild the flavor was when roasted. This recipe is a definite go to anytime steak is on the menu at my house.
