Keto Mint Julep Recipe

Its either Derby day or you just want a refreshing bourbon cocktail with fresh mint. This Sugar Free Keto Mint Julep tastes like you're in the infield at Churchill Downs.

Using Liquid stevia instead of traditional syrup makes this mint julep keto friendly as well as lower in calories.

Need another low carb cocktail be sure to try the "Keto Kraken" Dark & Stormy

History of the Mint Julep

Mint Juleps have been a staple at the Kentucky Derby all the way back to 1875. Fresh mint was grown on the grounds and quickly became the beverage of choice on race day and beyond.

Its estimated that over 120,000 mint juleps are served over the two day event at Churchill downs (pre covid) and remains the official drink of the Kentucky Derby.

Traditionally Woodford Reserve is the Official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby but I personally enjoy Maker's Mark. Use The Bourbon You Like Best I Say!!!

Keto Friendly Appetizers to Serve Derby Day

Traditionally Mint Juleps are served I a Julep Cup or a Rocks Glass but I was bold and elected to use a Mule cup. If we can substitute Cauliflower for pizza then I can use the wrong cup in a keto Cocktail.
