I had seen pizza dip becoming trendy on social media and I wanted to throw my hat I not the ring.
What makes my pizza dip different from other recipes is the combination of cream cheese and ricotta.
Ricotta cheese gives the pizza dip a much more authentic flavor and reminds me of a calzone, whichh in my opinion is even better than pizza.
After that its up to you to load it up with your favorite pizza toppings and you have a fantastic dip that is low in carbs but loaded with flavor.
Ingredients List
- Mushrooms, Canned
- Onions, Diced
- Black Olives, Sliced
- Bell Peppers, Diced
- Cream Cheese, softened
- Ricotta, Whole Milk
- Pepperoni slices
- Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
- Parmesan Cheese, grated
- Italian Seasoning
- Rao's Marinara Sauce
Step by Step Instructions
- Preheat oven on Broil
- In a mixing bowl add your softened cream cheese, ricotta, italian seasoning and ¾ of your pizza toppings (reserve the rest for topping) to a bowl and microwave for 90 seconds. Stir ingredients together until smooth.
- Transfer mixture to a oven safe dish or cast iron skillet, spread the mixture out into an even layer then pour out a layer of marinara sauce. Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese as well as remaining pizza toppings.
- Broil for about 5-7 minutes until the top is fully melted and bubly. Let dip cool for a minute before serving with pork rinds or veggies.
